The best games of the season

It’s time to *ruck and roll this Memorial Day weekend. In the last decade, rugby has grown immensely in Illinois and the Chicagoland Area. Rugby Illinois teams will gather Memorial Day, May 29, 2017 for the State Championship games with twelve games between six tiers, Girls High School, Boys High School D1, Boys High School D2, Boys High School D3, Boys JV, and Boys Freshman-Sophomore. In addition to championship games, players will be awarded Top All State Player Awards, for outstanding playing throughout the season.

Games for both dates will be held at Morton West High School’s, Carper Field, located on Harlem Ave. between 26th and 24th Street, Berwyn, IL 60402, at their newly renovated stadium, and playing fields.  Admission is $10 for adults $5 for children under 10 years of age, and $25 for a family of four. All active Ruby Illinois Players and coaches get int free with their RI Membership Cards. High School games will take play among three fields, middle school will use four fields. Rugby is the fastest growing sport in the United States, and Chicago has hosted three international matches at Soldier Field.

June 4th, 2017, Rugby Illinois Hosts the Middle School Championship, with U14 and U12 teams try-ing their way to a win. There will be championship matches as well as exhibition matches, including Select Side “Illinois Tornadoes” players from the North and South All-Star game at noon.
